How do you describe Preeti Jhangiani in simple terms? Well, she is a pretty pout on long legs.
But is she just that alone? Certainly no. She has ticking brain to go with tickling beauty.
The fresh-faced actress, who having cut a fine impression in films like Narasimhanaidu, Thammudu, Adipathi, is now back with a movie alongside Taraka Ratna.
Titled Magadu, the film is a youthful entertainer. Directed by Sai Krishna, the film is crucial for both Taraka and Preeti.
But Preeti is pretty poised about the whole thing.
The fresh-faced actress is just happy to be back in Tollywood.
"Though I am doing a film in Telugu after a gap of few years, I have been lucky to land myself something serious and sensitive. I am playing the role of a very bubbly, stubborn modern girl who tries to achieve what she believes in. The role is very tough and challenging compared to my earlier films," she has said.
Most North Indian actress working in Tollywood talk about characters and roles, but Preeti is different: She also talks about the dialogues written for her in the film.
"My dialogues are quite sarcastic in the film. Thanks to the director, my job has become easy since my dialogues are given to me one-day in advance". Preeti may not understand the nuances of the language but she is smart enough to comprehend the cadences in it.
If she likes Telugu so much, why was she away from it for so long? Quite simple, she was busy in Bollywood and elsewhere.
Preeti is almost peripatetic, as she has acted in diverse languages like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. "It is in a sense difficult as you have take into account the sensibilities of each region. I have worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. But any serious actress, which I believe I am, has to work around this difficulty. In fact, it has been challenging and interesting," Preeti has been quoted as saying
How has it been working with Taraka Rathna who is just about finding his feet in the industry?
"I acted with Balakrishna in Narasimhanaidu. It was a wonderful experience. Taraka also comes from the same family, and it is nice to associate with their family, as they are known for their dedication towards work".
Magadu has taken quite a time in the making. It was delayed for various reasons.
Now it remains to be seen whether the wait was worth it.
Preeti is also waiting to know.
