Director Mohit Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’ which released this Friday made deep imprints into the hearts of audiences across the country. The Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, which released on 26th April 2013, opened to an unprecedented response unanimously across theatres in the country.

Despite having released alongside Hollywood franchise Iron Man 3, that was made on a budget of a whopping 1200 crores, ‘Aashiqui 2’ with a humble budget of 9 crores managed to make a killing at the box office. While the film went on to make over 20 crores over the weekend - It stayed consistent on Monday too garnering 4.25 crore.

In fact recently the production team T-Series and Vishesh Films threw a small party to celebrate the success of their emotional drama ‘Aashiqui 2’ with the cast and crew.

Ecstatic with the success of the film producer Bhushan Kumar remarked, "Aashiqui 2 is a film extremely close to my heart...my father Gulshan Kumar built the pillars of the franchise and I’m very proud to take it forward and do justice to it."

Added producer Mahesh Bhatt, "Aashiqui has managed to retain a spot in people’s minds for over two decades...Aashiqui 2 caters to true entertainment lovers and we are overwhelmed with the manner in which audiences have embraced the film".
