The year saw the super iconic Mr. Bachchan’s first entry into stardom with ‘Zanjeer’ and b-town first teenage love story ‘Bobby’ making its debut along with Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia.

On 1st March 1988 Aamir Khan made his debut as a lead in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.. same year Mr. Bachchan ‘Shahenshah’ was released amidst all protest and rallies against him. It was hell of a time for the superstar Mr. Bachchan as he was under the Bofors scanner.. A star was born as Aamir instantly became the ‘‘Shahenshah’ of the young at hearts.

Aamir showed his flair for writing when he joined Robin Bhatt to write the script and screenplay for Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke in 1993. Aamir consolidated his instant connection with the urban youth with timeless effect the 1992 released Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar still looks fresh and continues to blossom even today..

Aamir eye for comedy was seen in his previous films but his neck for comedy is incomparable in the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna..

Aamir was tagged by many as an sophisticated urban youth who lacks the ‘mass’ appeal by his contemporaries and critics.. ‘Munna’ in Rangeela made everybody along with his critics shut their mouth as he winningly played the street smart tapori with such élan that it continues to inspire many wannabe.

Raja Hindustani made Aamir the no.1 choice of every Indian female.. taking his stardom to a new heights... who can forget that kiss in the rain with Karishma Kapoor which is considered as one of Bollywood’s most passionate kiss of all times.

Aamir added another feather to his cap by singing ‘Aati Kya Khandala’ in Ghulam which became a rage all over. From actor and writer Aamir became a singer.

Aamir made his critics smell his acting powers with a terrific portray of a police chief with a mission in Sarfarosh.. many had the opinion that Aamir’s soft face may not fit in the toughness required for the role but Aamir the ‘perfectionist’ did it again. Now Aamir Khan is not just a star, writer and singer.. Aamir with his brilliance in Sarfarosh became the actor with class and range to look out for..

Lagaan showed the world the creative genius of this actor, writer, singer called Aamir Khan who now turned producer with this 2001 release which wrote its own page of history in the glory books of Indian cinema.
