In the wake of TN government's banning of Vishwaroopam for two weeks, Superstar Rajinikanth has appealed to 'Muslim brothers' to reconsider their stand.

Praising Kamal Hassan, his friend for 40 years, as a "great artiste who had taken Tamil cinema to the global level," Rajini made an appeal to the Muslim leaders, while greeting them on the occasion of Meelad-un-Nabi.

"The fact that Kamal Haasan held a special screening of the movie to Muslim brothers meeting their demand despite being cleared by the Censor Board shows his respect for the community," he has been quoted as saying.

He also spoke of how he felt concerned, especially because his friend had invested a whopping Rs. 100 cr.
