Srikant, Vidisha and Meenakshi Deekshit played the lead roles in 'Devaraya' directed by Nani Krishna, presented by Nanigadi Cinema and produced by Nani Krishna and Kiran Jakkamsetty on the banner of Sunray International Cinema in association with Meka Media. The film which was released recently is running successfully. The film unit held a success meet at the Film Chamber.

Speaking on the occasion, the director says, 'Nobody knows the history. We know about a few ordinances. Among those ordinances, I chose an incident based on one ordinance as our movie. We all know that Rayalu had removed the eyes of Appaji. But we don't know the reality and the reason behind the incident. But I chose this point for my story. Though the film may not entertain the intellectuals, mass audiences enjoyed it.'

Srikant says, 'After 'Mahatma' this film gave me life. In fact, this is the heavy budget film in my career.' Producer Kiran Jakkamsetty thanked the audiences for making the film a big hit. Sivaji Raja, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Vidisha, Meenakshi, Chittibabu, Rabhu, cameraman Purna and others participated.
