It was almost sure that Anushka Shetty was to play the leading lady of Ajith's proposed film with Siva of 'Siruthai' fame. But in a sudden turn of events, an official announcement was made on Friday, declaring Tamannah as the movie's heroine.

When we probed sources as to what happened behind the screen, they said, "Anushka was unable to allot the dates required by Siva since she is busy with back to back projects in Kollywood and Tollywood."

They added: "The film is already being delayed due to various reasons. Since the producer and the director are not ready for any further delay, they opted for Tamannah."

It is to be noted that Tamannah played the heroine of 'Siruthai', which was helmed by Siva. "Since the director felt that Tamannah would do justice to the role, he finalised her."
