Routine Love Story to slug it out with the big D

The big D is not Dawood Ibrahim we should be afraid of. But it is Damarukam of which Routine Love Story may have to take note of. The two films, totally different in genres, scale and budget, are poised to release on Nov 23.
Directed by Praveen Sattaru, RLS features two much less familiar faces, as against Damarukam, which has Nag and Anushka, both hugely popular. Also, Srinivas Reddy's film's genre is highly popular with the film enthusiasts. At a time when the audience are looking for novelty and variety, this mammoth film stands good chances of getting huge openings. Recently, U Kodatara Ulikki Padatara got good pre-release publicity mainly because the audience saw in it a promise. (It is another matter that it bombed at the BO).
It is not to say that RLS will be bulldozed by a giant. For a month now, the audience have been starved of entertainment, barring of course the not-so-exciting Bus Stop. Since RLS looks refreshing, it might actually surprise with big openings too (though much less in comparison to Nag's film).
The good news is that there is space for everyone. Just as Jab Thak Hain Jaan and Son of Sardar received good openings, these two films may both be lapped up.
