The stage is set for the clash of titans. In two consecutive days, two highly prized films are going to hit the marquee. Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu on Oct 18 and Damarukam on Oct 19, are poised to set the box office on fire.

Besides belonging to non-routine genres, the films see their heroes in atypical roles. While Rambabu is a politically and socially conscious, loud, verbose, violent journalist, Nag in Damarukam dares destiny, and speaks in the Godavari dialect, saving Anushka (or perhaps even civilization) from some evil forces.

Prakash Raj has a meaty role in both the films. While he is a villainous Ranababu in CGTR, the nature of his character in Damarukam has been kept a secret by Srinivas Reddy.

CGTR, though a gargantuan release, is viewed with caution by many. Obviously, those who hated Businessman and saw it as perverse, and were equally dismayed by DCM, are not too enamoured of CGTR. Damarukam, touted to be India's own Avatar by Nagarjuna, is looked forward for its story and the graphics.

Apparently, the writing and making of CGTR was completed by Puri, who worked at a 'normal pace', from the time Srinivas Reddy and Dr. Venkat sat down to accomplish the graphics work from May!

While Puri claims that CGTR will be a landmark film in the careers of both Pawan and himself, Dr. Venkat says that Damarukam will be remembered as one of the great masterpieces for all time to come.
