Arjun Kapoor, better known as Boney Kapoor's son (born to Mona Shourie), debuted in this year with Ishaqzaade. Besides having three releases slated for next year, the actor is all set to reprise Mahesh Babu's role in the Hindi remake of Okkadu.

The movie was originally intended to be made with Abhishek Bacchan as the hero. Even the father's role was thought of given more importance since the plan was to rope in Amitabh Bacchan for it. However, it never took off for some reasons.

Now that Southern remakes are selling like hot cakes in Bollywood, Boney seems to have thought that the time is ripe for materializing his long-time project.

It will be interesting to see how Okkadu, Gunasekhar's biggest hit till date, will be adapted for an unfamiliar actor like Arjun.
