Allu Ramalingayya is widely remembered for his distinctive comedy style, but his grandson, Allu Arjun, has always taken certain important lessons in acting from his late grandfather's oeuvre.

He says that when he has to show variation from one character to another in film after film, he is reminded of Allu's remarkable talent of seeming so different in the different characters he portrayed in his illustrious career.

Cherry revealed yesterday, speaking at the ceremony meant to give away the Allu Ramalingayya Kalapeetam Jateeya Puraskaram to Tanikella Bharani, said that whenever the name the late artist is invoked by someone at home, the whole house erupts in joy. "He always used to laugh and make others laugh. He must now be making God laugh," he said.
