When Nayanatara’s name was called out at the 59th Idea Filmfare Awards (South), not many were surprised. It is because her Sita act in Bapu's Sri Rama Rajyam was always hailed to the skies by one and all.

On receiving the prestigious award, Nayan humbly dedicated it to her co-star, Balakrishna, who egged on her into accepting the role. She was the first actress who came to Balakrishna’s mind when Bapu came to him with the script of SRR. He was happy when Bapu too felt confident about her.

"Balakrishna sir convinced me that I could pull off this role. I also dedicate it to director Bapu sir, a veteran from whom I learnt a lot", she said on receiving the Black Lady.

Shreya Ghoshal and Jonnavithula won the awards in the categories of Best Playback Singer Female and Best Lyrics for Jagadhannadha.
