On the face of it, Daya doesn't seem to be a run-of-the-mill film. This AV Puneeth-directed film does not belong to that category of films where the hero is omnipotent and omniscient, waiting to prove to the world that he is almost and always lucky like Sudigaadu. Taraka Ratna in his forthcoming film comes with a not-so-happy past, and now, when he least expects, this unsavoury past comes haunting him.

He is leading his life normally when past threatens to unsettle him, and he has to be on a constant run to save his skin. "It is this part that will be truly exciting. Daya is being made as a different film," the makers aver.

Most shot at Ramoji Film City, this film is being produced by Y Rani and Vikram Raju. Gayathri is the heroine.

Tarak will be seen sans a moustache in this thriller.
