Superstar Rajinikanth has urged the Pudukottai district secretary of his fans club K Sridhar to withdraw the nomination he had filed to contest in the June 12 by-election to Pudukottai Assembly constituency.

The actor, in a message through Sudhakar, the head of his 'Rasigar Mandrams', requested Sridhar to withdraw the nomination or not to use the name of the fans club or its flag if he wished to go ahead with his decision.

Sridhar who is an ardent fan of the Superstar has been associated with the fans association since 1983. He announced earlier this week that he was contesting on behalf of Rajinikanth fans organization. However, he said he was yet to inform the head office about his decision.

"If Thalaivar and the headquarters support me, I would sure win the polls," said Sridhar, recalling that people and fans had been waiting for a long time for the political entry of the Superstar. "We have been carrying out a lot of social services here," he said.
