It is quite known to all that Action King Arjun is an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman. The actor has built a temple for Lord Hanuman on which he has been working from quite sometime now.

He was on a hunt for such a monolith rock for almost a year and it took him nearly four years to sculpt it. Artisans from Hubli have worked on it. The idol has been built out of a single rock. The moonlight is made out of a rock which was sent to his farmhouse in Chennai from Karnataka. It is said that the idol in the temple is as tall as 35 feet and has the God in a padmasana pose. Reportedly this is the first Hanuman idol in the world in this pose!

Thousands have gathered at Gerugambakkam, a village in Sriperambudur to catch a glimpse of the idol. The temple will be ready in a year which will be followed by a kumbhabishekam.

Incidentally, Arjun played the role of Lord Hanuman in ‘Sri Anjaneyam’, a 2004 Telugu blockbuster.
