Imagine a film where Indra and Tagore come together! It may not possibly happen in Tollywood, but a Malayalam film sees the coming together of two popular on-screen characters in one film. The King And The Commissioner stars Mammooty and Suresh Gopi. What makes the movie special is this: Suresh Gopi acted in a film titled Commissioner in 1994, and it was a super hit; Mamootty was seen as Joseph Alex, an upright IAS officer in The King, and it was a big hit. Director Shaji Kailash and writer Ramji Panikkar, have written a film which puts the two characters in the midst of an investigation in Delhi.

The movie was shot at RMF, Chennai and Delhi. It is touted as a political thriller, and will be released in April. The film tells the story of a National Security Force director (Mammootty), Delhi Police Commissioner (Suresh Gopi) and Samvrutthi, who plays a journalist.

The film has dialogues by Sahithi. Rajamani is the music director.
