In the case of Shiridi Sai the film, the first look not only makes for the best look, but it also indicates a taste of the things to come. What a similarity, many are exclaiming. We are talking about Akkineni Nagarjuna's transformation into the miraculous mystic master Shirdi Sai Baba. After playing the sage of revolution, he is playing a role in complete contrast. The role of a divine personality who exudes love and tranquillity.

Quite appropriately, Nag wears a serene and compassionate look on his face in this still. One is reminded of the pleasant surprise that we were taken by when we first saw Nag in that memorable Annamayya get-up on satellite tv more than a decade ago. While Sri Ramadasu was a legendary devotee like Annamayya, and donning the role might have been a case of ‘been there, done that’s for him, playing Sai cannot be a cakewalk for Nag. However, he could well surprise the world like never before with a perfect output.

For one and all Nag has completely become the great fakir in the pictures. He gets the demeanour of the Baba right with surgical precision. Kudos to him and the director, K Raghavendra Rao.
