Autonagar Surya, which is currently being shot in the vicinity of Hyderabad, is produced by K Achi Reddy. The producer says that Deva Katta has chosen a massy and action-packed subject this time. Suggesting that this film was a far cry from Prasthanam, he threw spotlight on the nature of the much-touted Chai film.

"We had a taste of Deva Katta's style in Prasthanam. He is coming out with an action, mass film this time. I am pretty confident that Naga Chaitanya will endear himself to the masses after Autonagar Surya," Atchi Reddy said. The film, understood to be a political satire, has high expectations around it, thanks to its maverick director.

The film chronicles the life and motivations of an Auto Nagar youth and how the circumstances influence him. Planned to be released in the summer of 2012, the film has, again, Sai Kumar playing a key role.

Known for extracting brilliant performances from his actors, Deva Katta is here drafting Brahmanandam, Jayaprakash Reddy, MS Narayana, Ajay, Brahmaji, Venu Madhav, Jeeva, and Srinivasa Reddy. The film has music by Anoop Rubens.
