You might be surprised to know that Rajinikanth's next film is not Rana, but a film titled as Kochadaiyaan, a hi-tech 3D film. It will be directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. It is slated to release in August, 2012.

What is unique about the film is that it is the first Indian film to make use of performance capture technology. The first time it was ever made use of was by the 2009 Hollywood movie Avatar. The latest entrant to this league is Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin.

KS Ravikumar has written the story, screenplay and dialogues apart from supervising the direction of the film, the film will be directed by Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth.

The film is being jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment Limited. Rajinikanth will start working for Rana after wrapping up this film in 2012.
