Ram Gopal Varma has said that there is no resemblance between the real incidents that have taken place in Bejawada in the past and what is shown in Bejawada the film. All that the film shows is rowdyism and goondaism and not the real-life politics and political murders of the city.

In an interview prior to the release of the film, the producer vouched for the acting talent of Naga Chaitanya and said that his acting follows a different template in Bejawada. It is not correct to think that only love stories would be suitable for Chai, RGV said.

Speaking on other things, RGV said that as an atheist he dislikes makes devotional flicks. In his usual acerbic style, he said that he despises both God and the devotees. He said that making sci-fi and historical films requires lot of patience, which he has not got.

He put the blame for the rising production costs at the door steps of the producers who don’t have awareness and the directors who have no grip over their script.
