It is damsel Anushka’s birthday today. As Arundhathi, if she showed us what a chivalrous chica she could be on screen, in 'Billa' she blended into a toughie girl ready to take on the hero. She is currently one of the busiest heroines in the South with prestigious projects like Damarukuam and Rampachodavaram in Telugu and Irandam Ulagam, Thaandavam and an untitled film opposite Karthi in Tamil.

Winning the Best Actress award (Filmfare) for her performance in Vedam, where she played a whore, was a cake walk for her.

In a short span, she has acted with the biggest stars in both Telugu (Nagarjuna and others) and Tamil (Vijay and others). A svelte lady, she has immense acting talent. Seen by many as Tollywood's next numero uno female lady, Anushka has always believed in good scripts.

Though she had a failure in Panchakshari, where she played the main lead, she is not bogged down a bit. Khaleja too proved a damp squib. She may have to re-invent herself in the coming days.

A busy bee in Tamil now, she has films lined up with Vikram and Arya. Right now in Telugu, she is playing a mythical role in Damarukam.
