If the grapevine is to be believed, Daggubati Rana is being considered for the role of one of the greatest 18th century figures of Kerala.

The news was broken by an English-language daily. The newspaper also said that the actor’s aide, when contacted, denied the rumour.

Rana, currently doing a Telugu film (Naa Ishtam) and a Bollywood film (titled Department) was not approached by any Malayalam film maker.

Moreover, the big-budget film, to be made in 3D, will be released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. It is not that the film will be too big for Rana’s stature. If the makers are looking for a less-known face to fit the role and are mooting roping in the lanky actor, chances are that the film would just fall into Rana’s lap.
