Nandamuri Balakrishna said that he is pained at the way his comments against an unnamed Telugu hero have been misinterpreted by some. He said that he was not referring to Ram Charan. In a long press note, he said that he has very good ties with the families of Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu. “We are not competition to each other. We enjoy the success of each other. I believe in the aphorism Sparthaye vardhathi vidya. Having made it to the top on our effort and will, we savour its fruits.”

He also reacted to the distortion of his comments made by some sections of the media. Saying that he is not against non-Telugu films, he said that he has always believed that nativity cannot be found in a Tamil or Kannada or Hindi film.

For the first time, he said that he would always advise the producers against splurging lakhs (or crores for that matter) on acquiring remake rights.

A film can be made only once by only one director and one hero, he averred.
