Will Shahid bounce back after 'Mausam' debacle?

The writing was clear on the wall for 'Mausam' even before the opening day came to a close. Leave aside the all around average to below average to poor reviews that the film fetched, 'Mausam' was shown a red signal by audience themselves, something that proved to be it's death kneel. Results were there to be seen when after a barely average opening weekend, the film crashed big time over the weekdays, hence resulting in a mere 29 crores total.
The film's prospects have been helped further, what with 'Force' taking a good opening (more about that later) and 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster' seeing good appreciation coming it's way. With it's shows being considerably reduced in the second week, 'Mausam' would barely complete it's second week before waving a final goodbye. A sad state for a film that took two years to be made but would now barely survive for a mere two weeks in theatres.
While it is clear that the film would breathe its last before hitting the 35 crores mark, 'Mausam' is particularly disappointing for Shahid Kapoor who played a major gamble by concentrating entirely on this film. He is more or less in a similar position as Hrithik Roshan was when he had a huge gap between his 'Jodhaa Akbar' and 'Kites' and had to face similar disappointment.
Though this is definitely a setback for Shahid, it can be rest assured that he would bounce back in a big way since he has been around for close to a decade in the industry and knows the rules of the game. Expect him to sign a flurry of films here and do a few conventional flicks to bring him back into reckoning all over again.
The other release of the week, 'Speedy Singhs', has proven to be a mighty disappointment at the box office with a mere 3.5 crores coming in. This dubbed film was released in India prior to its international release (it's target audience) in English. While it is yet to be seen how the film fares overseas, at least in Bollywood there isn't any 'speed' that this Vinay Virmani film could manage. In it's second week, the film is hardly running in any theatres and is on it's way out.
