It has been established beyond doubts now that the release time period plays a very crucial role in success (or the lack of it) for a film. In this aspect, 'Desi Boyz' seems to be getting everything bang on. Reason being that when it hits the screens on 25th November, it would have to face bare minimum challenge from other films arriving in it's vicinity.

Says a trade source, "'Desi Boyz' will be coming two weeks after 'Rockstar' (which releases on 11th November) and that too as a solo release. This means that an excellent opening is a given since 'Rockstar' would have more or less exhausted it's audience and for film buffs too there would be a desire to watch something new."

However 'Desi Boyz' would have to be cautious for next few weeks instead of celebrating in a pre-mature manner since 'The Dirty Picture', 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl', 'Mission Impossible 4' and 'Don 2' would be hitting the screens over the next four weeks.

"For 'Desi Boyz', a lot would depend upon not just the very first weekend but the rest of the week as well", the source continues, "If 'Desi Boyz' indeed has 100 crore in mind, then Akshay as well as John will have to go all out to make it an event release. Makers have to think big instead of just being content with what the opening has to offer. In any case, the film's promotion has started with a bang and there is a lot more that can be expected over next couple of months that would better are the chances for 'Desi Boyz' to gain an entry into an exclusive 100 crore club."

Well, we look forward to that for sure and hope it indeed happens.
