Srinivasa Reddy-directed Damarukam, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Anushka in the leads, took off yesterday at the Annapurna Studios. Regular shooting, where the main cast will shoot for some crucial scenes, are planned to be shot in this schedule. Five grand sets, which have been graphically created, will be erected in due course of time to make the socio-fantasy thriller every bit a rich caper.
For Nagarjuna, this movie from RR Movie Makers is definitely a big thing to have happened in a long time because a budget of Rs. 35 cr. is huge by any standards.
It is learnt that the film's subject is loosely inspired by Amish Tripathi's 'The Immortals of Meluha.' Going by this, Nag would be donning the role of a human-God (Lord Shiva) who ascends from man to being a God by the end, saving a Utopian kingdom from misery and darkness.
