Despite rumorus to the contrary, Autonagar Surya will commence shooting from the 6th of next month. As is well-known, this is a political satire starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead. To be directed by Deva Katta, the film will see Samantha playing the female lead for the second time opposite Chaitu.

It was said that Nagarjuna had been advising his son against doing the movie at this stage of his career, especially because his role in the film happens to be that of an action-oriented one (much like what he has done in Dhada and what he is doing in Bejawada), and not a lover boy's character.

Nothing of the sort has transpired between the father-son duo and it is not true that the film has been kept on hold. Going by some of the recent statements of Chaitu, he is keen on Autonagar Surya and working with a maverick like Deva Katta.

Thematically different from his previous films, Vennela and Prasthanam, this film is a litmus test for the director-actor duo.
