Pawan Kalyan's long search for a success at doing a raw role may well be realized with the film he will do with Veeru Potal from January 2012. Ever since Khushi made him a non-pareil class entertainer, Power Star, as he had come to be known a year before the release of that film, desperately tried to strike a chord with the masses, to become someone like his Megastar brother. However, the numero uno status in the hearts of the mass audience has always been elusive.

Johnny, Bangaram, Annavaram and Puli failed him consistently and miserably. The roles in Balu and Jalsa neither helped him win the hearts of the urban cine-goer nor impress the rural base.

The actor spotted the right redeemer in Dabangg and it seemed he is on the right path. It would seem that Pawan is not content with Gabbar Singh. Which explains why he has decided to team up with Veeru Potla of Bindaas and Ragada.

Not prizes for guessing that it will be a freewheeling, fleshed out and raw character that he will be doing here. Will Pawan be salvaged by the directorial prowess of Potla?

Come 2012, Gabbar Singh and the film with Veeru will be a litmus test for the crazy star.
