With controversy surrounding 'Obbavva' Kannada cinema for the title is now sold for Telugu even before the release of Kannada version in Karnataka.

The historians are not interested in the 'Obbavva' the historically significant personality name for the Kannada cinema but director Anand P Raju is unmoved.

Anand P Raju slashed half of the earlier title 'Onake Obbavva' and made it just 'Obbavva'. Producer Pravin Kumar is happy for the film getting demand from adjacent Andhra Pradesh.

'Obbavva' is now at the re-recording stage and the demand from the local market is increasing for producer Pravinkumar because of the Ayesha starrer earlier film 'Chennamma IPS' giving good results in the box office. There has been tremendous initial draw in the first three weeks for 'Chennamma IPS' has comforted this film. Ayesha's first film as action heroine 'Jayahe' was also super hit in the box office.

For 'Obbavva' Gauri Venkatesh is the cameraman and Rajesh Ramanath is the music director. Ayesha getting series of offers is the young lady bond on Kannada screen today.
