As the title denotes - 'The Dirty Picture', one cannot expect to be all goody-goody on board, right? What we mean is that all the things, including the story, characters and plot of Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming movie is quite far from the normal family cinema. And given so, the usually plain, girl-next-door-lady Vidya Balan had to cross her boundaries to take on the disguise of a bold, sexy personality like Silk Smitha.

Already enough has been said about Vidya's makeover to look like the late voluptuous, screen actress. While she had to put on weight and dress like Silk, the latest buzz is that Vidya was also made to smoke for the role.

According to sources, Vidya had been in Hyderabad recently to shoot a smoking scene. And they revealed that by the time the sequence was Okayed by the director, the actress had smoked nearly 10 cigarettes! Not that she had got the hang of it... For, Vidya was feeling quite troubled all the while shooting it, considering the number of retakes the scene had.

It is said that Vidya felt uneasy and started coughing after few puffs and shoot was given a break for sometime, before she recovered from the smoke effects.

Since director Milan Luthria wanted the scene to look authentic he had insisted the actress to take of cigarettes.....

Poor Vidya, given the fact that she is strictly 'no' to smoking. Remember, earlier she had imposed a no-smoking ban on the sets of 'Kahani', where she dons the character of a pregnant woman.....
