Sona approached the Chennai city Police Commissioner to take action against the owner of a building in Maduravoyal, from where she was once operating a wooden furniture company.

In her complaint to Commissioner of Police J K Tripathy, Sona alleged that even after she had vacated the premises, its owner is refusing to repay the advance amount she paid to him while renting the facility.

"Despite various pleas, he is refusing to pay heed to my genuine demand to repay the advance amount. Hence the police should intervene and ensure that I get my money back," the actress said.

However, since Maduravoyal falls under the limits of Chennai Suburban Police Commissionerate, Tripathy asked Sona to approach Commissioner Karan Singha, who heads the division.
