Samantha's role as a Malayalee Christian, Jessie, in 'Ye Maaya Chesave' took us by awe and left us speechless; one can rightfully say it proved to be a milestone in both the lead roles' career.

This is probably because of the close-to-reality portrayal by Gautham Menon in this film and perfect girl next door image of Samantha. Another key aspect of the film was that it ended on a positive note, showing how even though both the lead roles parted they still awaited one another and at the same time, became successful in their careers as well, and finally met again as fate favoured them.

This became an instant hit among the young as it's a breezy romantic movie, reflecting reality yet not a movie that would make you reach for your tissues.

We had earlier told you that the movie is being remade in Hindi by Gautham Menon as 'Prem Katha' and stars Amy Jackson of 'Madarasu Pattanam' fame along with Prateik Babbar.
