If there’s someone in the film industry for treating fans with varied performances other than Kamal Hassan, we can say that would be our very own Chiyaan Vikram. Vikram will be donning the lead role in ‘Karikalan’ that is a period and a contemporary flick. (Probably like Telugu blockbuster ‘Magadeera’ that juggles between the past and present?)

Zarine will be cast opposite Vikram in this film. She is not new to the film industry; she had earlier paired-up with Salman Khan in ‘Veer,’ another period film!

SS Vasan and S Parthi of Silver Line Film Factory will be producing this grand affair. They had earlier produced ‘Singam Puli’ starring Jiiva that was quite a box-office disaster.

LI Kannan is directing this film, he had earlier handled special effects in blockbusters like ‘Enthiran,’ ‘Anniyan,’ ‘Eeram,’ ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Sivakasi.’ Harris Jayaraj will be composing the tunes for this period film, while Pasupathy and Shanmuga Raja will play key roles in the film.

They say, ‘Karikalan’ is based upon a fantasy story on Karikalan and revolves around him. Some of the scenes are already shot at the Thalakonam forest.
