It was a custom in Tamil Nadu’s first family that the newborns would be named by its senior most member- Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi. But there was a change in the routine this time.

When Kiruthika, wife of the octogenarian’s grandson Udhayanidhi Stalin, delivered a baby girl recently, it was the infant’s brother Inbanidhi who zeroed in on a name for his little sister.

Confirming this, the producer-actor says, “The name of my daughter is Tanmaya. It was selected by her brother and my son Inbanidhi. And we have got the blessings of thatha too.”

Saying that he spends quality time with his two children, Udhayanidhi, who has become an actor with ‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’, adds: “I will be with my kids whenever I find free time. I ensure that I spend with them as much time as possible.”
