Kajal Agarwal has been signed in for the Hindi remake of ‘Singam’ in which she will play the romantic lead opposite Ajay Devgan. Tamil superstar Suriya had played the lead in its Tamil version. It was said that Anushka Shetty who did the Tamil version, was being considered for the role. However, Kajal has now signed the film. This movie was dubbed and released in Telugu too as 'Yamudu'.

Kajal has been waiting for a good offer to enter Bollywood for quite sometime. Earlier there was news of her entering Bollywood with the Hindi remake of her Telugu blockbuster ‘Magadheera ‘. Incidentally Kajal began here career in a small role in Hindi film where she played the friend of Aishwarya Rai.

‘Singam’ is being remade in Hindi by Reliance Big Pictures in which Ajay Devgan plays a tough cop. Prakash Raj will essay the same role he did in Tamil. It will be directed by Rohit Shetty of Golmal series fame. The project will start shooting this month and release in July.
