Superstar Rajnikanth and Shankar's combo'Robo'/'Endhiran' was a blockbuster hit, we all know. The industry was amazed to see the figures the movie collected world wide when Sun Pictures, the production house that made the film released its third quarter results on Monday in Chennai. Robo/Endhiran raked in a staggering Rs 375 crore collections worldwide. In the last quarter, the net profits of Sun Pictures went up by 48 per cent thanks to Rajni mania. Ajay Vidyasagar, Chief Operating officer(COO) of Sun TV announced these figures to the media on Monday.
Robot that released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil was screened in 1400 theatres in more than 12 countries.In the very first week of the movie's release Rajni's craze brought the movie a collection of Rs 117 crore in all the three languages making it the single biggest hit in the history of Indian cinema.
This sci-fi picture with Aishwarya Rai in the lead broke all records and earned stunning profits for Kalanidhi Maran and his team. This magnum opus that released on October 1st 2010, is still in theatres in several parts of the country. Rajinikanth set a benchmark for commercial success of cinema with this film.
