If the movie ‘Endhiran’ is putting all producers on their back foot there are some who innovatively use the trailer to bring in audience. Some theatres like the Abhirami in Chennai even advertise the running of trailer during the interval of a movie as an event.

As the state is getting ready to paint itself metallic grey in a few days time nothing much was expected in this Friday. The Mammootty-Arjun-Sneha starrer ‘Vande Matharam’ which did not release last Friday as announced is hitting the theatres after sorting out troubles.

Otherwise it’s all rehashes. ‘365 Kadhal Kadithangal’ and ‘En Kanmani Priya’ are the only straight new film for this Friday. Both are long overdue film that should have seen the light in 2009 itself.

‘365 Kadhal Kadithangal’ is a romance starring debutant Ajay and Karthika. The story is about a guy who finds his teenage lover in coma after many years. With no hope of recovery the girl’s parents and doctors decide on euthanasia. The lover boy steps in at this stage and vows to bring her back to life.

The film is produced by Saalai Vijay and Saalai Maithri under the banner of Vision 21 Creative Team Works. Music is by Paul J. There is no opening attraction for the movie except for the beautiful Karthika.

Akshaya Cine Films ‘En Kanmani Priya’ is a small film directed by Ravi Vetrivel. The film is about a mother living for her daughter and is ready to go to any extreme for making her life better. Vadivukarasi, Ankitha Rao, Ramesh, Praveen, Vishwa, Ansari are the cast. No hard sell of any sort for this film.

Then there is a classic revival of a 1961 film of the ever green MGR this Friday. The black and white film of MGR, ‘Kudumbathalaivan’ is being brought back in a heart of the city theater Woodlands Symphony. This MGR, Saroja Devi starrer is a Devar Films production that assures all mass entertainment ingredients. Then of course there are the mellifluous songs. It may complete the task easily with the help of classic lovers.

More, Panchamukhi and Vaalibame Vaa are two dubbed films for the week. Both are from Telugu. Surprisingly no Hollywood dubbed movies.

‘Panchamukhi’ is the dubbed from Telugu ‘Panchakshari’. It is a kind of socio religious fantasy film that may find favour in the rural areas who patronized ‘Arunthathee’ before. Anushka plays a double role. One is a village belle ‘Panchamukhi’ who is a sooth-sayer with her divine blessings at the time of birth. Another is Honey, a city bred IT professional. The film is resting on the strengths of Anushka who still is remembered for ‘Arunthathee’ and the recent block buster ‘Singam’.

The other dubbed film is ‘Vaalibame Vaa’ which is dubbed from Telugu ‘High School. These film stars Kiran in the main lead and her curves are the reason for dubbing this film. The movie is about an adolescent affair of a 13-year school student with his 30-year-old teacher. Narasimha Nandi is the boy and Kiran is the teacher.

The producer calls the film theme offbeat and says it is inspired from Monica Bellucci’s film ‘Malena’ and Malayalam film ‘Rathi Nirvedam’. Oh God!

So the stage is all set for the biggie. Fasten your seat belts, and get ready for the biggest ever Indian film. From next week its going to be Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran, Endhiran and Endhiran.
