4 films in a single day

July 30 has witnessed on the biggest number of releases in the recent history of Mollywood. Four films including- Avan, Ladies Only, Ramaravanan, and Taskara Lahala went to theatres today. This is the first weekend in the last seven years, when the Box Office is flooded with four releases on the same day.

Of the four movies, ‘Avan’ had the best release in around 40 centres. A musical thriller, ‘Avan' will feature singer Vijay Yesudas as hero. Directed by Nandakumar Kavil, the movie also features Bala, Jagathy, Riyas Khan, Devan, Anup Menon and Muktha.

‘Ramaravanan’, is a much delayed Suresh Gopi starrer, which was into controversy recently following its theme about love between a Singhalese girl and Tamil revolutionary. Based on the short story ‘Manomi’ by Madhavikutty, Biju Vattappara directs the movie. Mithra Kurian is the heroine of this movie which also features prominent stars of Mollywood. Among the four movies 'Ramaravanan' opens in lowest number of centres.

Ladies only, directed by Pappan Payattuvila, revolves around Advocate Laxmanan played by Mukesh. A hilarious comedy, the movie also have Lakshmi Sharma, Mallika Kapoor, Jagadish, Harishree Ashokan, Suresh Krishna, Geetha Vijayan in supporting roles. Thaskara Lahala is also a comic affair with Suraj Venjaranmoodu as the hero and is directed by Ramesh Das.
