Ashok, who made his debut in 'Ice', has taken a new avatar. He has come out with a couple of pop albums in Tamil targeting youngsters and children.

"There is a general feeling that there is no market for Tamil albums. However I am confident that if marketed well, we can create a huge impact among music-lovers for pop albums," he says.

Ashok's Joy Entertainment in association with Shisha Productions has come out with the albums 'Ilamai Jolly Jolly' and 'Music Masala'. They have sound tracks set to tunes by Samrosh Khan and Sivaranjani respectively.

According to Ashok, "Music Masala has groovy music and the video features hip-hop dancers from France, Malaysia, Singapore and Nigeria. The highlight of the album is remix of MGR song 'Mera Naam Abdul Rahman...'. A bunch of talented singers have crooned for it".

On 'Ilamai Jolly Jolly', he says the album is targeted at children and there are songs that speak of education, love for mother and need to shun drinking. Young singers like Sai Charan and Krishnamurthy have crooned for this album. A formal launch of the album would take place soon in Chennai in which who's who of the industry would take part, he adds.
