Director Suraaj is thrilled to do the remake of Superstar Rajinikanth’s yesteryear hit 'Mappillai'. The movie produced by Sun Pictures features Dhanush and Hansika Motwani in lead roles while Manisha Koirala playing Dhanush’s mother-in-law.

"I know the responsibilities of remaking a Rajini film that too with his son-in-law playing the protagonist. At the same time, I would like to clarify that we have just taken the basic plot and made many changes to the script," he says.

Claiming comedy will be a major highlight of the movie, he says, "Vivek has been roped in to do a role which is not there in the original version. I am sure he will bring the roofs down with his comic sense."

Elaborating, Suraaj says, "Vivek is playing a school student, who is in plus two for many years. Scenes involving Dhanush and Vivek will be interesting. We have completed 70 per cent of the movie thanks to Sun Pictures."
