Gopichand-starrer Golimaar, directed by Puri Jagannadh, is all set to hit the screens on April 24. As is well-known, the film has the action star playing an encounter specialist.
Produced by Bellamkonda Suresh and music-directed by Chakri, the film stars Priyamani as the female lead.
It began its shoot on December 20 and has been shot extensively without much breaks. It is said that the character of Gopichand is inspired from real-life encounter specialist Daya Nayak, a sub-inspector with the Mumbai police, who eliminated scores of gangsters.
In fact, Daya's life makes for a good cinematic script. Born in Karnataka, he reached the then Bombay, where he worked in a Udipi restaurant and studied. After he joined the police, he gunned down two deadly gangsters in street fight and there was no looking back to him.
He openly claimed that he killed more than 83 gangsters in encounters.
Let's see how well his controversial life is put on the celluloid.
