Joshy's Robinhood and Jayaraj's Loudspeaker completed fifty days run, this week. While Robinhood was able to complete a fifty in six centres, Loudspeaker managed to cross fifty in a lone centre at Thiruvananthapuram. Both the movies are already declared as average hits in the Box Office. Loudspeaker managed to cling on to the success rope only due to its very low budgeting which helped the movie to complete its production below three crores. Robinhood was a costly affair at 4.5 crores including prints, but the movie earned well in its initial two weeks, which helped it to end up as an average earner.
Meanwhile, the biggest hit of recent times Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja is still continuing in 70 release centres in its second month. The movie has already collected over 10 crores from its first 25 days. Mohanlal's Angel John is now declared as one of the biggest flops from the star, this decade. The movie just manages to be in nine centres in its fourth week, of which more than in five centres, it is only being screened as noon shows. Dileep's Swa.Le is also a downer, but is definitely not a washout. The movie is still being shown at 35 centres in its fourth week.
Renjith's experimental movie Kerala Café is gradually gaining more and more viewers, mainly due to mouth publicity. Had the makers insisted on a safe landing advertisements in the early days, the movie could have easily become a big hit.
