Director K S Ravikumar had sent his assistants to the theaters in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi and Tirunelveli to collect the public opinion directly about his Diwali release ‘Aadhavan’. And the assistants carried the news that fans complained on the length of the film. The brainy director immediately edited out 19 minutes of the film and sent his assistant directors to all the centres to make these cuts. And now we got to know from the audience that the film is clean and crisp.

Jananathan’s ‘Peranmai’ too had the same problem but, as the director’s close circle encouraged him blindly and advised him not to cut the film short the director was silent for a while. Then later realised his mistake and gave a cut list of 16 minutes. And following this editing, ‘Peranmai’ is earning as equally as ‘Aadhavan’ now.

This shows that filmmakers can’t pull the wool over the audiences’ eyes anymore. So, film that crosses 2 hours is becoming a big ‘No No’.

Trend is changing guys, please understand!
