Some differences with the director and a minor fracture on the sets of an upcoming film have made Monica to opt out of ‘Manmadha Rajyam’, say circles close to her.

The movie directed by 'Mangai' Harirajan went on floors recently. However, Monica, who was announced as one of the heroines of the film, did not take part at the event.

Sources close to her reveal that she expressed inability to act in 'Manmadha Rajyam'. Following this, Keerthi Chawla, Tejashree, Akshaya, Mega Nair and one more actress will act in lead roles, it is said.

The film was earlier titled ‘Manmadha Leelai’. The change in the name was due to the reported denial of permission by veteran K Balachandar, who claims the ownership of the title. Circles close to the ace filmmaker said that he is planning to remake ‘Manmadha Leelai’, which he made decades ago with Kamal Haasan in the lead.
