‘Kanchivaram’ wins Best Director Award

The Department of Information & Publicity and Navadharshan Film Society, Puducherry conducts Indian Panorama (Film Festival), screening films that were selected by the Directorate of Film festival, New Delhi.

The board of the event has selected Priyadarshan as the Best Director for his movie ‘Kanchivaram’. Named after Sri Sankaradass Swamigal, the award and a memento will be given to the director along with cash of Rs. 50,000. The function has been planned to take place in the second week of September 2009. Honourable Chief Minister of Puducherry Thir V. Vaithilingam will preside over the function to hand out the award to the winning director.

‘Kanchivaram’ featured Prakash Raj, Shammu and Shriya Reddy and the movie already had visited other prestigious Film Festivals abroad.
