Awaiting the release of JDÂs ÂSiddhamÂ, Jagapathi Babu is also planning his forthcoming ventures in earnest. With ÂAkasamantha nearly complete, he will be enacting in the direction of Madhan and a sequel to his yesteryear hit ÂGaayamÂ.
Jagapathi Babu had a brief chat with the media and speaking about the sequel, he said, ÂI have been committed for two films so far. While working with Madhan for ÂPellaina KothaloÂ, I felt his flair for knowledge and ability in the nuances of direction. True to my verdict, the movie was a hit and bought me fame. So, I signed up a new project entrusting his talents. I will be working for a sequel for Gaayam which will be directed by RGVÂs pupil, Praveen.Â
More than a decade back, ÂGaayam directed by Ram Gopal Varma was a super hit in Jagapathi BabuÂs career. The role of an underplayed godfather bought out the true acting talent of the artist. Recently, it was made as ÂSarkar in Hindi followed by ÂSarkar Raj which didnÂt garner enough attention. For now, the sequel has been confirmed and along with JagapathiÂs role, the characters of Revathi and Urmila will be retained to bring in the classic feel. In the lines of his mentor, Praveen is being expected to live up to the expectations generated among the film goers.
