Superstar Mohanalal has indeed a very busy year in 2008 ,taking the central roles in eight films .Apart from AMMA's multistarrer ''Twenty:20'' ,Lal took the centre figure in the movies like College kumaran, Innathe chinthavishayam, Pakal nakshatrangal, Madambi, Aakashagopuram, Kurukshetra and Mizhikal Sakshy.He converted three out of this eight into note worthy hits .

Sathyan Anthikkad's'' Innathe chinthavishayam ''was the first hit of the super star in 2008, which came out during the Vishu season.The movie made a strenuous run to hundred days competing with Mammooty's ''Anann Thampi' which was also released for the same season'. Madambi which was released in July was Lal's second super hit of the year which also celebrated a hundred days.

The fans of the star was also more than thrilled with Lal's role in AMMA's multistarrer'' Twenty :20"'.They will never forget the transformation scene of meek Devan to the mighty Devaraja Pratap Varma , folding up his dhoti, twirling his moustache delivering punchlines to his friends, even while keeping an eye to eye confrontation with the character played by Mammooty , who has saved him from the court of law.

Mohanlal wisely used his time and travelled between crafty off beat movies and commercial ones .He thus was able to present himself in notable characters like ''Albert samsun in Aakashagopuram , director Siddharthan in Pakalnakshathrangal, and in another demanding role in 'Mizhikal saakshy'.

His only big failure in the commercial front was that of'' College Kumaran'' which sadly didn't took off even from the day one.Everything else was okay for Mohanlal , who also surprised everyone competently delivering the complex role on stage in Prasanth Narayan's ''Chayamukhy' '.

With all these intelligent creative efforts in cinema , Lal is doubtlessly'' the Mollywood star of the year , 2008''.
