Popular industrialist and filmmaker Azhagan Thamizhmani was slated to play a character in director Bala's film 'Naan Kadavul'. His character required him to grow a mustache and beard. Azhagan Thamizhmani, who had produced movies such as Solaikuyil and Sithiraipookal in the past, religiously grew his beard and mustache for a year.

Since 'Naan kadavul' starring Arya ran into many controversies, the film did not have a smooth sail as far as continuous production is concerned. Despite this snag the industrialist cum filmmaker waited patiently for his shots to be canned.

Unfortunately before the shooting could take place, his mother passed away. Hindu tradition requires the son to take off the mustache, beard and even tonsure the head before performing the last rites. But then to keep up his commitment with the film 'Naan Kadavul' Azhagan Thamizhmani didn't shave off and went ahead with the last rites.

This sure is a big favor for the 'Naan Kadavul' team.
