This Onam season will be a very different one that will be marked in the history of the industry. With the superstar star films shifting for further dates, this Onam season is left to watch the clash between films that are either highly art house or experimental.
In these lines, the first movie of the season 'Adayalanagal' - a state award winning movie, is already out with its share of mixed responses. The only film that appears to be geared for the mood of the festival audiences seems to be Bullet which will have its share of investigation drama and dialogues.
But the expected dark horse of the race seems to be Director Renjiths Thirakkatha which zooms into the lives in the Malayalam tinsel town. Told in the backdrop of the movie industry from its eighties,Thirakkatha is said to be based on an altogether different script.
This Prithviraj starrer will focus on the love and life of three persons in the industry, Akbar Ahamed, an Young film director played by Prithviraj, Ajaychandran, the super actor of the industry played by Anoop Menon and Malavika , an yesteryear's heroine , who now disappeared from the scene. The movie is told using a rare technique of narration, as it is presented as three separate monologues which meet at the climax.
The movie will offer a different experience to the viewer, who has already got bored with the routine run of the mill stories in the box office.
