The tussle between the producers, distributors of 'Kuselan' and the exhibitors seems to be heading to an amicable end now. The Tamilnadu Theatre Owners Association, whose executive committee had an emergency meeting today, expressed their desire to hold talks and end the issue without any more hassles.
The association had earlier written letters to Kavithalaya and Seven Arts, producers of 'Kuselan' and Pyramid Saimira, the master distributor of the film, to repay 75 per cent of the MG (Minimum Guarantee) amount they paid to the distributors following the movie's poor show at the box-office. It may be noted that Rajinikanth and the others involved had agreed to refund 33 per cent of the MG money to compensate the losses incurred by the distributors and theatre owners.
However, the Theatre Owners Association in its executive committee recently said that at least 70 per cent of the amount should be repaid.
Meanwhile at today's meeting, the members of the association heaped laurels on actor Rajinikanth for coming forward to compensate the loss though he is not the producer of the movie.
'For the betterment of the industry, we are ready to solve the issue amicably by holding talks', they decided at the meeting.
