Mohanlal’s new film 'Swapnamalika' will become the first Malayalam film to receive the financial support from IDBI.

The bank has agreed to support four crores for the production of this movie, which is granted in the least interest rates.

IDBI has earlier supported around 80 Hindi films and Tamil films. The director of the movie K B Devaraj is in the opinion that producers who find it increasingly difficult to fund their movies can definitely approach IDBI, than going for private financiers.

The shoot for the 'Swapnamalika' has already started at Ernakulam. The movie features an Israeli actress Elena as the heroine.

The film based on a story by its lead actor Mohanlal will also be shot at Varanasi, Allahabad, Delhi and Ottappalam.

This is the first time Mohanlal is writing for a movie. The superstar of Mollywood will appear in a dual role in the movie, as Dr Appu Nair and his father Shekharan Nair.

Ace singer M G Sreekumar also returns to music direction in Mollywood, through this film.
